Getting Started

This guide walks you through creating your PayFlow account and processing your first payment.

Create your account

1. Go to payflow.io/signup.
2. Enter your name, email address, and a strong password.
3. Select Create Account.
4. Check your email for a verification link and select it.

Your account starts in test mode – you can explore all features without processing real payments.

Complete your business profile

Before accepting live payments, you need to verify your business:

1. In the Dashboard, select Settings → Business Profile.
2. Enter your business name, address, and registration number.
3. Upload the requested identity documents.
4. Select Submit for Review.

Verification typically takes 1–2 business days. You'll receive an email when your account is approved.

Still in review?

You can continue using test mode while your account is under review. No real payments will be processed until verification is complete.

Process your first test payment

Once you're logged in:

1. Select Payments in the left sidebar.
2. Select + New Payment in the top right.
3. Enter a test amount (for example, £25.00).
4. Use the test card number 4242 4242 4242 4242 with any future expiry date and any 3-digit CVC.
5. Select Charge.

The payment appears in your Payments list with a Test badge. Congratulations – you've processed your first payment.

Switch to live mode

When you're ready to accept real payments:

1. Ensure your account is verified (see above).
2. Select the Test Mode toggle in the top right of the Dashboard.
3. Confirm you want to switch to Live Mode.

Live mode processes real payments

Charges made in live mode are real. Make sure you're ready before switching.
