What I do
I work on complex systems where documentation directly affects how quickly engineers can ship, integrate, and adopt new technology.
With 19 years of experience across IT, fintech, AI, data, SaaS, healthcare, and e-commerce, I specialise in turning technically dense products into documentation that developers, data scientists, and enterprise teams actually use. I don't just write – I build documentation systems, own developer portals end-to-end, and embed directly with engineering teams to get the technical depth right.
Currently at KX, I document KDB.AI (a real-time vector database for AI workloads) and PyKX (a Python interface to kdb+ for high-performance analytics). My audience: data scientists, quantitative analysts, financial engineers, and enterprise IT teams.

How I work
As a certified front-end developer, I don't just document APIs – I read the code, test the endpoints in Postman, and reproduce the errors before I write about them. This technical depth is what separates documentation that's accurate from documentation that's actually useful.
I work docs-as-code by default: Markdown, Git, pull requests, and CI/CD pipelines. I've owned developer portals on readme.io, built sites in MkDocs and Docusaurus, and collaborated directly with engineering teams in Agile sprints.

How I improve documentation
These are the principles I apply to every project – not as a checklist, but as how I think:
- Restructure for task-based navigation – users arrive with goals, not curiosity. I organise docs around what people need to do, not how the product is built.
- Reduce cognitive load in API docs – one concept per page, examples before explanation, consistent patterns throughout.
- Align docs with release cycles – documentation ships with the feature, not three weeks later.
- Write for real user workflows – I interview engineers, read support tickets, and test the product before writing a word.
- Treat the doc site as a product – information architecture and navigation design matter as much as prose quality.
- Remove what doesn't earn its place – the best documentation is often shorter than the first draft.
